Mamelodi Sundowns midfielder Sipho Mbule could be the latest player to part ways with the club before the June transfer window closes.
According to the player’s agent, both parties are looking for a temporary solution about the player’s situation at the club as he has not been getting some minutes in the past games.
It was further revealed that Sekhukhune united are the club that are looking to sign Sipho Mbule on a loan deal before the window closes on the 20th of September.
Since joining Mamelodi Sundowns from Supersport united few years ago, Mbule has not managed to seal his place in the starting lineup, however, he has been introduced mostly from the bench.
The 26-year-old was nursing his injury, according to Mamelodi Sundowns head coach Manqoba Mngqithi. Mngqithi confirmed that he is now back in training and they are rating the player highly, despite barely using him.
When speaking to the media, Manqoba Mngqithi confirmed that they are looking to release the player in order for him to get more game-time elsewhere.
Mike Maakab, who is the agent of Sipho Mbule, revealed that the player was eager to join Mamelodi Sundowns back then, despite having Kaizer Chiefs who were also interested in signing him.
Maakab stated that Sipho Mbuleʼs priority were only Mamelodi Sundowns and had no interest in joining Kaizer Chiefs. Mamelodi Sundowns were also willing to pay for the player.
The midfielder only managed to make 16 appearances in the Dstv Premiership last season for Mamelodi Sundowns, missing out in 14 matches.
SIPHO MBULEʼS FOOTBALL CAREER
The Bethlehem born midfielder is actually the product of the Soweto giants, Orlando Pirates. He played for the reserve side of Orlando Pirates and also the development team of Harmony Sports before joining Supersport united.
When he first arrived at Supersport united, he also played in the clubʼs reserve team for just one year before joining the senior team full-time.
He was one of the top players at Supersport united, along with the likes of Grant Kekana, Teboho Mokoena, Aubrey Modiba and Ronwen Williams. They have now all joined Mamelodi Sundowns from Supersport united.
While he was still at his top form, Sipho Mbule was also called in the South African national team. He first made his debut back in 2017 at Bafana Bafana.
A move to Sekhukhune united would work out for all parties involved as Sekhukhune united are looking to continue where they left off last season, while Mamelodi Sundowns want to reduce the number of senior players in their squad.
Sekhukhune united started the Betway Premiership on a high note as they defeated the newly promoted Magesi fc. They are sitting in the 7th position with three points.
Sekhukhune united were busy this time around in the transfer window as the club welcomed a number of players, and also released a couple of players.
Njabulo Ngcobo, Thabang Monare, Katlego Mohamme and Keletso Makgalwa were some of the top players who joined Sekhukhune united during the June transfer window.
The club also released about 17 players since the June transfer window opened.
